1969 - 1979

On April first, 1969, Peter Strack and his son-in-law Georg Rombach founded the company “Peter Strack.” At that time, they manufactured stamped parts in the basement of their home in Ruppichteroth, using a used 35 metric tons press. Later, they also produced decorative grilles in the adjoining garage, which ensured the company’s initial success.

From 1970 onwards, they patented unique furniture and shop-fitting hardware systems. The development of these systems brought the breakthrough and a steadily growing success in the following years. The location had to be changed several times to have more space.

The development of a so-called single-stand for coffee tables – using a crank handle, the table could be converted into a dining table - developed into a product in demand so that the company went into series production.

1980 - 2003

The company continued to grow, and soon, the premises became too small again, so the principal office was moved to Winterscheid.

Until today, the complete range of industrial metal processing is operated and further developed here, on a hall area of approx. 2000 square meters.

At this time, Peter Strack handed over the company’s management to his son-in-law Georg Rombach. After the handover, the company focused on producing locking systems, especially for automobile roof boxes. This led to further growth of the customer base. In 1990, under the leadership of Georg Rombach, the legal form was changed to an Ltd (limited liability company), and the company was renamed “Rombach Stanztechnik GmbH.”

2004 - 2012

In 2004, Peter Rombach, son of Georg Rombach and grandson of the founder, was brought on board as managing Director.

In 2007, Peter Rombach took over the company. Thanks to his professional experience in well-known management consulting, he could now apply his skills in the family business, optimizing business processes and improving manufacturing processes.

He focused on designing internal structures and expanding the field of activity and service. In 2008, he acquired the manufacturing plant of a former customer from the advertising technology sector, and in 2012, the client company “Peter Kneip.” In the same year, all companies were merged into “Rombach GmbH.”

2013 - today

Over time, the company opened further trades and an extensive network of specialized partners. As a result, the range of services could be significantly expanded, and the manufacturing capabilities could be developed.

Furthermore, the company positioned itself internationally. Today, the company can draw on and involve producers from Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, Southeastern Europe, and the Far East. Depending on the requirements, cost budget, and necessary “proximity of logistics,” a tailor-made concept is developed and lived.

With 25 employees, we now supply over 2000 items to customers from nearly 20 industries.
